The Influence of Climate, Soil Properties and Vegetation on Soil Nitrogen in Sloping Farmland

نویسندگان

چکیده

Soil nitrogen in farmland ecosystems is affected by climate, soil physical and chemical properties planting activities. To clarify the effects of these factors on sloping quantitatively, distribution total (TN) content, nitrate (NO3-N) content ammonium (NH4-N) at depth 0–100 cm 11 profiles Luanhe River Basin were analyzed. Meanwhile, properties, climatic NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) used to construct a structural equation which reflected influence mechanism environmental concentration. The results showed that TN NO3-N decreased with increase Basin, while variation NH4-N was not obvious. organic carbon (SOC) pH, area average particle size (SMD) NDVI6 (NDVI June) explained 77.4%. SOC most important factor contributing content. NDVI5 May), annual precipitation (MAP), pH 49.1% Among all factors, only NDVI8 August) had significant correlation change 24.2%. ecosystem mainly natural such as parent material climate.

The Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock

Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...

Vegetation Type and Age Drive Changes in Soil Properties, Nitrogen, and Carbon Sequestration in Urban Parks under Cold Climate

Urban green spaces provide ecosystem properties fundamental to the provision of ecosystem services, such as the sequestration of carbon and nutrients and serving as a reservoir for organic matter. Although, urban vegetation influences soil physico-chemical properties, it remains unknown whether ecosystem properties depend on plant species portfolios. We tested the influence of three common func...

Changes in Soil Carbon and Nitrogen following Land Abandonment of Farmland on the Loess Plateau, China

The revegetation of abandoned farmland significantly influences soil organic C (SOC) and total N (TN). However, the dynamics of both soil OC and N storage following the abandonment of farmland are not well understood. To learn more about soil C and N storages dynamics 30 years after the conversion of farmland to grassland, we measured SOC and TN content in paired grassland and farmland sites in...
